Wildcat Creek * April 20, 2002
Observations by Dru Clarke
This is a special site we added for data collection. It is part of Project W.O.L.F. (Wildcat Outdoor Lab Facility) used by Manhattan High School and is the MOST beautiful and wild reach of Wildcat Creek. Flanked on the east by a steep slope (20-30%) overall) and to the west by a wide flodd plain, it is canopied by riparian trees - sycamore, box elder, silver maple. A haven for birds and other wildlife. Found an orange-throated darter in stream.

Kings Creek (KPBS) * April 25, 2002
Observations by Dru Clarke
Crow "fishing" in creek downstream caught "something", pecked at it on bank, then flew away. Lots of algae; lots of leopard frogs. Air temperature 65 degrees F.
