Turbidity: La Motte tube- recorded JTU.
Sample taken from river in jar, then 25 mL placed in tube- Estimated visually with Secchi icon card
Dissolved Oxygen: D.O. Tes-Tabs.
Water sample taken in bucket, small vial immersed, test tabe disolved, sample color compared with after 5 minutes.
Nitrates:

Nitrate Tes-Tabs.
Tabs dissolved in 5 mL water- wait minutes. Color chart compared, average recorded.

Phosphates:

Phosphate Tes-Tabs.
Tab dissolved in 5 mL water from collection jar. Wait 5 minutes. Sample color compared w/ phosphate color chart.

Macro-invertebrates: Kicknet used in flow of river. Samples collected. Students I.D. Pollution index figured. Number of organisms and types recorded.
pH: Wide range Tes-Tabs and pH microprocessor.
Test Tube 10 mL water, pH tes-tab dissolved, compared color chart. Average recoded.
Density: Aquarium hydrometer used. Density estimated. Average recorded.
Salinity:

Salintest meter. Average recorded.

Current Speed: 12 meters measured, distance in current. Orange dropped and timed. Speed calculated. Repeat 3 times. Average calculated.
Water Temp. Low Range Thermometer held in water 4 inches below surface for one minute. Average recorded.
Sediment Analysis Three samples taken- edge, 5 meters from shore, bottom
