Valley Middle School seventh grade students conducuted a stream
study on the section of Wolf Creek that flows through Overland
Park Arboretum. There were about 115 students and 15 parents.
Alison Reber and Jeff Severin from StreamLink and Teresa Rasmussen
from USGS Facilitated the three assessments that were done on
the stream. The students decided this is a very healthy section
of Wolf Creek. The water quality is good, |

| and there was a
wide variety of macro-invertebrates, including several very
sensitive species. The students all had a great time. In addition
to the stream study, the students made rain sticks and hiked
around the ground. |
