September 2002 Evaluation of 142-mile Creek

It is my belief that the area assessed is in fair condition considering the current circumstances. The area surveyed had had clear and sunny weather for the 24 hours before and during the assessment of the area. Also, seeing as the areas around where the assessments were conducted are used as cropland and active grazing land, it would be expected to find the nutrient amounts in the water due to runoff and the mixing of fecal matter. From my experience (don't hold me for credibility) there wasn't much unusual at the creek. The only possible problem, due to a lack of rainfall, was that there was no water flow. The creek was dried up enough that the water was down to being in pools and puddles. It's normal to see small amounts of algae and to see fish and other organisms in the water. Very few plants were growing in the water. Generally the stream had nothing wrong with it and was in a good condition except for water flow.
